Babel And Pentecost | GET TALKIN' with Kimberly, Chris, and Ryan
Thursday Jun 12, 2025
Thursday Jun 12, 2025
As we talk through Pentecost, Chris floats out the idea that Pentecost is so much more than just the moment the spirit of God descended, but that it's God fully stamping His authority on all nations. How does that impact the way we read scripture? And how we process rebellion and the spiritual rhelm? All Glory to God! Global Evangelism (Tanzania Ministry Testimony) | Mwenge Muyombi
Tuesday Jun 10, 2025
Tuesday Jun 10, 2025
Our guest preacher for the day is Mwenge Muyombi, lay leader of the Kigoma District in the Tanzania GMC Annual conference. Mwenge’s father brought Methodism to Tanzania in 1989 and Mwenge shares how the Holy Spirit empowers the church to feed the orphans and widows and start churches under trees. Tanzanian leadership is largely creating local GMC churches from nothing and bringing people to faith in Christ by sharing the love of Christ.

Just a question... Is Kimberly actually from TX?... And on a more important note. When we talk about the Spirit of God coming, what does that mean? How do we think about the Spirit, Jesus, and the Father? How do we not dip into a heretical view of God? We try our best! And if you have any questions or comments, email the team at Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org

As we dive into the "Road To Emmaus" text from Luke 24, the trio asks the question, what do we make of Jesus' pattern of "hiding" himself in plain sight from his disciples post-resurrection? And what does that mean for the way we pursue Christ? As always, if you have a questions email the team at Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org

In Luke 24, Jesus encounters two disciples through and in their discussion as they journey along their way. Jesus is ready to encounter us, too, through our conversation, breaking bread, and sharing our stories together as we intentionally journey with other disciples.

John 21:15-19 is the full-circle moment of the reconciliation of Peter, and the prophecy of his eventual death. We pause today and step back to ask, what is an accurate view of a life of suffering and self denial? What does it mean to live as a living sacrifice in a 21st century context? And how do we take up the cross of Christ and suffer with Him when we're just going about our every day? If you ever have a question or a comment, email us! We'd love to hear from you, email Ryan at Ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org

What is the role of Working for the Christian? How do we hold patience and trust in the Lord's plan and goodness with the mandate of Genesis to work and care for our world? The beginning of John 21 is an incredible illustration of how God desires us to meet us in our work, and in our effort for the good of both the world, and our hearts! If you have a comment or question, leave it in the episode comments or email Ryan at ryan.stueckemann@kingwoodmethodist.org.
