While we live in post-resurrection times, we often live our lives as though Jesus was just a great dead teacher. Or a great life coach. But family, how different would our lives look like if we recognized Jesus for who He is. The literal risen king of the universe! This has been a year of lost hope for our community and world. But as believers, we can claim victory always because our savior lives. 

Though we have a "formula" for calculating "when" Easter is, we are called to SOO much more than that. We are called to be an Easter people! Every day living in the truth and the call of the resurrection, to insert the savior that rose from the dead into every day crossroads situations. On your walks back to what you know (your job, your family, your personal battles), are you letting the savior in?

On Palm Sunday, the people of Jerusalem thought they were welcoming a liberator. While they were welcoming the liberator from sin and death, their distorted reality blocked them from seeing the reality of who Jesus was. What realities have you put on Jesus that He does not desire to fill?

Obedience can be a difficult thing to think about. But obedience to God is different than obedience to any other earthy master. We can find rest in obedience to the Lord because his heart allows our souls to find contentment in his character. 

When God calls us to walk with him down the good path it can be intimidating. We can see in scripture that God doesn’t want us to walk alone and to know that where he is leading us is always better than where we started. 

When was the last time that you asked for help from someone you loved? When was the last time you asked help from the LORD? How willing are you to share your life with those God has given to support you, and with the one who created you and loves you? Living out the Christian life well demands a lot of prayer, and a lot of support. So friend... Ask!

As we look at the passage of the Good Samaritan again, we ask, "Lord, what new thing are you teaching us?" Dr. Palmer makes the case that this passage is to equally condemn our desire to consistently justify our actions through our faith, and to call us to help first in all situations, and leave the justification to the LORD.

God speaks for himself. He doesn't need us to explain his every move or intention! So, simply stated, how are you sharing Gods story?

When we think about "the gifts" we often think about the "outward" or "obvious" gifts like teaching and healing, but scripture points to a different reality. A reality where God's people (the church) are a collection of different gifts rejoicing in what God is doing through each others gifts. That gifts of hospitality are expressed and beloved in the same way teaching and prophecy are. How has God gifted you to join in His work?
